Jupe Jupe puts on a late-80s new wave sheen, while Chadwick takes the closing track from "Empty Words" to a more abstract, almost Morr Music place. Doll Factory rearranges "Among the Ruins" into the Manchester Hacienda-esque anthem it always threatened to be. Chris Prescott (No Knife, Pinback) remixes "Paper Ships" with San Diego in mind and Seattle no-wavers Blicky reconfigure "Stand Fast" as a club hit for Berlin (when it still had a wall). Current C'est la Mort guitarist Greg makes a cut and paste pastiche of "No Time" as his avant garde alter-ego, Emergency Hand Puppet. Tension Studio's take on "Among the Ruins" ratchets up the doom and death rock and, frankly, frightens us just a little.
